Bio

With over 20 years of performing experience, Ryan “Harpo” Harbert combines his wide range of skills and talents in producing unique art and designing new tools to enable the impossible!

Music

As a musician, Harpo specializes in playing reed instruments (saxophone, flute, clarinet), with training in jazz improvisation, but plays many instruments and is always learning more! He regularly performs in numerous bands, including multiple international tours, and even once played onstage with Weezer! Most recently, he began a series of solo live-looping shows on the Holophonor, an open-sourced, multi-looping software he helped create.

Theatre

Harpo performs onstage and off, mostly as a sound, lighting, and projection designer. His favorite work involves integrating new technologies, such as projection mapping and programmable LEDs into a live production setting. He has created several controller libraries for realtime theatrical applications.

Harpo is currently the Technical Director for the El Camino High School Performing Arts Center, and performs technical work for other PAC’s in the Sacramento area.

Business

With his company, dell’Arte Productions, he creates video and audio of all kinds in the form of commercials, documentaries, albums, music videos, industrial films, and many others. His video work started long before forming a company or obtaining a degree in Digital Media, and represents a lifelong passion for capturing excellent images and sounds.
